Toronto: You may need to leave a little extra time if you are heading to Pearson International Airport today.
Dec. 18 is historically one of the busiest days of the year for the Toronto airport and more than 127,000 travellers are expected to come through Pearson today.
Shabeen Hanifa, a spokesperson for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, said staff at Pearson are trying to keep the holiday spirit alive for passengers today.
We’ve got lots of things going on for the holidays. We have Santa here, we’ve got Mrs. Claus reading some books, we’ve got great activities for the kids. You can create your own ornament and we’ve got carolers singing,” Hanifa said.
“So all of it to entertain people that are coming through for their holidays.”
If you are packing gifts in your carry-on baggage, make sure they are not wrapped or they won’t make it through security, the airport warns.
“We have a free gift wrapping station just past security,” Hanifa added.
