Chandigarh: State president of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Kamal Sharma today appointed Shivbir Singh Rajan as a new president of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM), while present Yuva Morcha Chief Mohit Gupta has been appointed as the district president of the party for Bathinda. The Bhathinda unit of the party will include 3 vidhansabha constituencies i.e Bhathinda Urban,Bhathinda Rural & Bhucho Mandi.
In a statement issued by state BJP chief, stated that after resigned by former Bathinda district president Parminder Goyal, seat was lying vacant due to which the party has appointed Mohit Gupta as new president.
Sharma added that Shivbir Singh, who was earlier general secretary of BJYM now has been given charges of president of the morcha.
Meanwhile, Mohit Gupta, a native of Bucho Mandi in Bathinda has started his career in politics by joining Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad in 1989 after which he was elected as district president of BJYM in
Whereas, Shivbir Singh Rajan has entered into politics by joining Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1999 and was elected as vice president of BJYM in 2001. Rajan, a native of Dinanagar in Gurdaspur has completed his studies in Mechanical Engineering.
