New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off poll campaign in Haryana’s Karnal district on Saturday with his first poll rally after Lok Sabha elections and said that to ensure development in the state, people need to vote for a Congress-free government in the upcoming Oct 15 Assembly elections.
He added that people need to elect a stable government in Haryana on the 90 Assembly seats with majority which will allow him to do work in the state.
“For development in Haryana, people have to elect Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government with full majority. The state needs to be free of Congress rule so that Modi can work without obstacles,” he said.
He added that the entire world is talking about India because crores of people elected the the strong and stable central government with clear majority.
Modi further launched a scathing attack on Congress saying that those who failed to do anything for the last 60 years are asking for his 60 days work record.
He also criticised the claim of Congress which ranked Haryana as one of the top state.
The PM also targeted main opposition INLD and asked the people whether they would like a governmnet which would function from the jail.
INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala has been sentenced in teachers recruitment scam and is currently out on bail. He claimed that the next government in the state will be formed from the Tihar jail.
The PM said that the Haryana government is spreading lies that the central government has stopped exporting Basmati rice. “The accusations are false and my farmer brothers and sisters are being misled,” he said.
Modi further said that Congress government did not do anything for pilgrims travelling to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra whereas BJP opened a new road to facilitate their travel.
He said that while Congress government did nothing to facilitate pilgrims travelling to Mansarovar Yatra for the last 60 years, BJP got a new road opened for them.
Modi said that he is starting the poll campaign from the land of ‘dar veer karn.’
He added that the party had initiated ‘Prime Minister Krishi Sinchai Yojana’ and ‘Jan Dhan yojana’ for the poor.
Talking about the law and order situation in the state and instances of land grabbing by goons, Modi said that Haryana police does not pay heed to him as they are under the influence of the state government.
Days after launching his ‘Clean India’ campaign, he said, “In the present age of wi-fi, shouldn’t our towns be clean? I want to work towards waste management to make them smart cities. Shouldn’t Haryana cities be part of this?”
He said that the state ranks ninth for reducing poverty while it is on the eight position for per capita income.
