Karachi, May 29
Ahead of the much-awaited India-Pakistan encounter in the Champions Trophy, Pakistani speedster Junaid Khan has taken a dig at India skipper Virat Kohli, saying his team is not afraid of him and they know how to tackle him.
Khan said Kohli was a great batsman but he had failed against his pace in the past. “I have dismissed him in three out of the four matches we have faced each other. He is a brilliant batsman but he has failed against me,” said Khan. “I bowled him in India in front of his fans, so it won’t be a problem in England either.”
Khan and Kohli have faced-off a few times in the past and the 28-year-old Indian batsman has managed to score just 2 runs off 22 balls. “When I face him, I will consider him the same Kohli. I may be wrong but I think he will also think of me as the same Junaid who has taken his wicket before. It might make him go on the defensive a bit more and he may lose his wicket,” said the 27-year-old.
“He has been hitting sixes and fours all over the world but he hasn’t come good against me. I will try to keep that record intact,” he said.
Even as the left-arm pacer is eyeing to get the better of Kohli, he’s aware that the skipper isn’t the only batsman in the Indian side who could hurt Pakistan. “Kohli isn’t the only good batsman in the Indian side, there are others too. I have been watching their videos and am prepared to face them,” he added.
