RS Pura: Expressing solidarity with the parents who lost their children in the Peshawar school massacre in Pakistan, BJP’s firebrand leader Uma Bharti on Thursday said that the country that provides sanctuary to terrorists was destined to become the target of terrorism.
“Every Indian, every parent is outraged by what happened in Pakistan. Pakistan is a country that provided safe haven to terrorists and now the menace of terrorism has returned to haunt them,” Bharti said addressing an election rally here.
“Who else can understand the pain of the Pakistani parents as the parents in India have seen and felt this pain… They (terrorists) in India have killed so many innocent children,” she said.
Bharti asserted that now the world will now unite to end the menace of terrorism permanently.
?When the menace of terrorism has retuned to haunt the very country that provided safe havens to it, the world will now unite to end this menace permanently,? she said.
She expressed hope that India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lead a global fight against terrorism.
The time has come when the world will unite to end this menace and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lead the global fight against terrorism,? she said.
Bharti said that in 1991, terrorists challenged her party to hoist the tri-colour in Srinagar and she had accepted the challenge.
We went to Lal Chowk on January 26, 1992 and hoisted the tri-colour there. I told Atal Bihari Vajpayee if he would have allowed me I would have loved to hoist the tri-colour in Lahore and Karachi as well,? she said.
She said BJP never believes in communal or caste politics, but it was the only party that fought the elections on the issue of development. (
