Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
New Delhi: Former prime minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 67th death anniversary at Raj Ghat.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and shared his reverence for the Father of the Nation on twitter.
An all-religion prayer meeting has been organised at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi.
On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated at a prayer meeting.
