Mississauga, Peel Regional Police say a 19-year-old man has died of his injuries in hospital after he was stabbed in central Mississauga on Saturday afternoon.
Police say the victim was discovered on Harrowsmith Drive, just north of Highway 403 and Confederation Parkway, at about 2:21 p.m.
A Peel Paramedics supervisor tweeted they worked to resuscitate the victim before he was taken to a local hospital. He passed away at 3:31 p.m. on Saturday, Const. Bally Saini said.
The victim was stabbed somewhere on Webb Drive, at least two kilometres from where he was found, police said.
Police are searching for a male suspect with a Middle Eastern complexion, standing five-feet-ten inches tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark grey hoodie.
Saad Masud, a resident of the street where the victim was found, said the residence where the victim was found houses several university students as well as an older couple.
He said the street has been quiet and peacefully in the year and a half he has lived there.
