MALUKA ASKS OFFICERS TO EXPEDITE THE PACE OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

* Adequate staff and manpower to be provided to field offices

Chandigarh, July 1:  The Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka today issued instructions to all authorities concerned to ensure the completion of ongoing Rural Development Projects in time by accelerating the pace of work.

In a meeting here today, Mr. Maluka said the state has prepared a comprehensive plan to strengthen theRural Development Department by filling all the vacant posts with a view to give a boost to the ongoing projects. He said that staff shortage in the department would be resolved soon, under this plan 30 Junior Engineers (Civil) would be recruited in short span of time. He said that Chief Minister has given the nod to the recruitment process and JEs would be recruited through direct recruitment process.  The Minister also informed that department was also reviewing the actual number of shortage of staff in the field offices so that adequate staff and manpower could  be provided. He said that with the recruitment of fresh lot of JEs and other needful staff, the functioning of department would get new pace.

The Minister also asked the authorities/officers concerned to complete the ongoing rural development projects within stipulated time frame. He also said in months to come Rural belts of Punjab would have get a new facelift as development projects were on advanced stage of completion
