Mai Bhago institute armed forces preparatory institute to be funcational from next academic mission

SAS Nagar (Mohali), badal Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal envisioned showcasing the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) as a world class institution in view of its growing popularity in the country being the best training institute for the cadets desirous of joining Armed Forces as their career.

Addressing the cadets undergoing training in the MRSAFPI here last evening, the Chief Minister said that it was a matter of great satisfaction and honor for the Punjabis that as many as 23 cadets have been selected in NDA from Punjab during the current year. He said that a similar institute for girls namely Mai Bhago Institute Armed Forces Preparatory Institute would be made functional from the next academic session. Mr. Badal said that these institutes were his dream projects to restore the pristine glory of gallantry services rendered by the Punjabis in the armed forces, which had gradually faded away with the passage of time.

The Chief Minister however said that these institutes would surely go a long way in grooming the boys and girls from the state to join Armed forces thereby making every Punjabi proud. He called upon the cadets to imbibe the spirit of nationalism and patriotism after being trained from this institute which has its motto- ‘Cradle of Military Leadership’. Mr. Badal also asked its Director to arrange meetings/ interactions with the top Army Officers who had brought laurels for the country during their distinguished career of marshal service in different wings of the Armed forces, so that they could be duly motivated.

Earlier, the Chief Minister while presiding over the meeting of Governing body asked the Chief Administrator (CA) GMADA to entrust the task of maintenance and upkeep this institute to some reputed agency besides executing the construction work of main road linking the academy and completing the remaining portion of boundary wall. He also asked the Director to launch vigorous publicity campaign in the media to bring awareness amongst the people about the academy and its achievements.

BS Dhaliwal, Lieutenant General (Retd.) RS Sujlana, Air Marshall (Retd.) TS Randhawa, Director Dashmesh Academy Sri Anandpur Sahib Major General (Retd.) JS Ghuman, Secretary Expenditure Mr. Jaspal Singh, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema, CA gmada Mr. AK Sinha and Deputy Commissioner Mr. TPS Sidhu.
