Ludhiana, The Wave World Kabaddi League (Wave WKL) will mark its entry in India with the inaugural of second leg of the league to commence in Ludhiana on September 6.
The Wave World Kabaddi League was inaugurated in London’s O2 Arena and the second weekend saw matches in LG Arena in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The opening match of the Punjab leg is scheduled in Ludhiana and the first weekend in Punjab will witness four matches in Ludhiana’s hockey stadium at Punjab Agricultural University.Other matches of the league will be played in four cities in Punjab; Bathinda, Jalandar and Amritsar.
Speaking on the occasion, Pargat Singh, commissioner, Wave World Kabaddi League said “Punjab is the home ground of kabaddi. We are very happy to start the matches here. All our teams are excited and looking forward to playing in various cities of the state. We received an overwhelming response in United Kingdom and Delhi and we hope to recreate the magic in Punjab.”
Currently, the Khalsa Warriors led the points position with four wins in as many matches and eight points while Lahore Lions and Yo Yo Tigers share the second place with six points from three wins in four matches.
Khlasa Warriors will take on Punjab Thunder and Vancouver Lions will be playing against California Eagles on Saturday while United Singhs will play against Royal Kings USA and Yo Yo Tigers will take on Lahore Lions on Sunday.
