Ludhiana Congress leaders suggest popularity test for Capt Amarinder, Bajwa

Chandigarh, Several Congress leaders in Ludhiana today suggested to the state Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa to go for a popularity test across Punjab between himself and Capt Amarinder Singh to confirm as who deserves to stay in the party and who deserves to be thrown out. In a joint statement former DCC president Pawan Dewan, Ludhiana East incharge Gurmail Singh Pahalwan and others ridiculed Bajwa’s demand for removing Capt Amarinder from the party, when every Congressman wanted him (Capt Amarinder) to lead the party in the state. “Bajwa apparently is nourishing delusional dreams that Capt Amarinder will be out of the party and he will have the absolute authority as there will be no opposition to him”, they remarked while taking a dig at Bajwa saying, “he was badly mistaken and if Capt Amarinder was not around there will be no Congress left in Punjab other than Bajwa himself, his wife and his brother”.
