New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for the repromulgation of the Land Bill, adding that his party will fight for the rights of the farmers.
The official twitter account of Gandhi`s office shared the Congress vice president`s thoughts on the issue.
“Modi ji in an amazing hurry to grab land from poor farmers at any cost. A 3rd attempt at pushing the anti farmer Land Ordinance!” it posted.
“Congress Party will continue to fight for the rights of the kisan and mazdoor against this #suitbootkisarkar,” it added.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, today approved the repromulgation of the Land Acquisition Bill.
The ordinance, which is currently with the Joint Committee of the Parliament for a detailed discussion on its provisions, is due to expire on June 3.
