Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, The youth congress of Punjab is all set to begin 2016 by pushing its demand to rename Mohali International airport as Shaheed Bhagat Singh airport. In this regard, the youth wing will be taking out a ‘Padyatra’ from January 3.
The President of Punjab Youth Congress, Amarpreet Singh Lally got wholehearted support from Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee’s chief Captain Amarinder Singh during a meeting held in this regard here today.
Amarpreet Lally will start this five-day padyatra from Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s native village Khatkar Kalan. The yatra will then pass through Nawanshahar, Balachaur, Rupnagar, Kurali, Kharar and Sohana and culminate at Mohali airport.
“Since SAD has failed to convince the NDA government at the Centre to name the airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the Punjab Youth Congress has taken it upon itself to accomplish this task,” said Lally. The members of Punjab Youth Congress are hopeful that through the padyatra they will be able to draw attention to this long-pending demand.
