Mumbai, Mohit Sharma bowled one of the best final overs under pressure as Kings XI Punjab lived to fight another day after edging out Mumbai Indians by seven runs in a high-scoring IPL thriller.
Put in to bat, Kings XI Punjab piled up a mammoth 230/3, riding on Wriddhiman Saha’s unbeaten 93 off 55 balls.
In reply, Mumbai Indians nearly pulled off the highest ever chase in IPL before being restricted to 223/6, which means that Punjab keep their playoffs chances alive.
Needing 16 off the final over, Kieron Pollard (50 off 24 balls) scored a double on the first ball, but one run was deducted as he ran the first run short. The next delivery was pulled over square-leg for a six.
Defending 10 off four balls, Mohit (2/57 in 4 overs) bowled three dots in a row to seal the match in favour of Punjab.
