New Delhi: The 25-year-old international footballer Alan Pulido, who was abducted on Saturday from the northern Mexico border, has been rescued by Mexican authorities.
“Alan is safe and sound,” Tamaulipas government said in a statement, without providing details about the operation.
Pulido was kidnapped from close to his home after leaving a party on Saturday night. Pulido was travelling back to Ciudad Victoria when his vehicle was intercepted and he was seized by unknown individuals.
Mexico has one of the world’s highest kidnapping rates.
“Alan is safe and sound,” Tamaulipas government said in a statement, without providing details about the operation. The striker plays for the Greek team Olympiakos and has made several appearances for Mexico’s national team.
