Amritsar, On the directions of DGP Suresh Arora, the local police have booked former Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) head Charanjit Singh Chadha and his son, Inderbir Singh, on the complaint of a school principal, who was purportedly seen with Chadha in a “sleazy” video.
A case was registered at Islamabad police station under Sections 354 (assault and use of criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354-A (sexual harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word or making gesture intended to insult modesty of a woman) of the IPC and Sections 67 and 67-A of the Information Technology Act.
The principal of a CKD-run school had accused Chadha of misusing his position and “compelling her to have physical relations”. “When I refused, he threatened me,” the woman said. She added that Inderbir threatened her on the phone.
A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under ADCP (Crime) Harjit Singh Dhaliwal to probe the charges. The SIT also includes ACP (Licensing) Parvinder Kaur and cyber cell incharge Vivinder Mahajan.
Khalsa College Council expels Chadha
The Khalsa College Governing Council today expelled Chadha, its vice president, on the directions of Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.
Council president Satyajit Singh Majithia, in a communiqué to Chadha, said: “After viewing the objectionable clip and the complaint made by a woman against you with the police, I am constrained to exercise the powers vested in me as the president to relieve you from the post of vice president with immediate effect.”
