Ramdas (Amritsar), April 8: The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has strongly condemned the dirty and dual politics being played by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on crucial SYL issue. Castigating kejriwal , S. Badal said that by giving statement in favour of constructing SYL canal , AAP leader has clearly demonstrated his anti-Punjab stand. He also criticized kejriwal for saying one thing while on visit to Punjab and singing Haryana’s tune on going back to Delhi.
Addressing large gathering here on occasion of sangat darshan programme, Deputy Chief Minister said that alert and sensible people of Punjab should show the door to forces inimical to Punjab in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections. Elaborating more, he said that the developmental work done by SAD-BJP government cannot ever be matched by any other party. He said that whenever the government led by S. Parkash Singh Badal has assumed reins of the state, Punjab has seen rapid progress in all spheres.
The Deputy Chief Minister further said that the SAD-BJP government has done yeoman’s service to ameliorate the lot of farmers, traders, poor people, old people and youth by initiating welfare schemes for each section. Attacking Congress, he said that this party has done the most harm to Punjab. Furthermore, leader of opposition belonging to congress were not able to showcase even a single achievement of congress regime during the recently concluded budget session of the vidhan sabha.
Touching the development agenda, Deputy Chief Minister said that SAD-BJP government laid out a wide and strong road network, made state power surplus, initiated free insurance for farmers and traders, made a success out of Atta-Dal Scheme, Doubled the pension, started religious yatra and eased the conditions to avail pensions for families taking part in struggle for Punjabi Suba, so that more and more families could be brought under the ambit of this scheme. He exuded confidence that pace of development would be speeded up further in the near future.
On the occasion, he distributed cheques worth Rs. 35 crore to the 178 panchayats of Ajnala constituency and Rs. 9.78 crore for development of Ajnala city. Besides this, he also issued development grant worth Rs. 6.50 crore for carrying out development projects to Ramdas Municipal Council. Making another important announcement, he said that after the vacation of stay by National Green Tribunal on new tubewell connections, soon enough pending connections in the state would be released. He also distributed sanction letters for 1000 tubewells in Ajnala constituency.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the sub divisional administrative complex at Ajnala which would come up at a cost of Rs. 3.14 crores.
