Jr NTR, also known as Taarak, is one the biggest superstars in the South film industry. Now basking in the success of his latest film RRR, it was 25 years back that the actor made his debut in films with Bala Ramayanam.
On April 14, 2022, the film completed 25 years of its release. For the same, actor-model Thakur Anoop Singh took to Twitter and shared unseen photos of Jr NTR from Bala Ramayanam.

Jr NTR made his debut in the film industry with Bala Ramayanam, 25 years back. Directed by Gunasekhar, the film had released on April 14, 1996. Actor Thakur Anoop Singh took to Twitter and posted unseen photos of Jr NTR, who played Lord Rama in the film. A part of his tweet can be read, “Congratulations to Jr. NTR @tarak9999 for completing 25 years in Telugu Film Industry as his classic “#Ramayanam” directed by Guna Sekhar marks 25th Anniversary…(sic).” For the unaware, the film also went on to bag a National Award.
GUNASEKHAR’S TWEET ON 22 YEARS OF THE FILM IN 2018
When the film had completed 22 years of its release in 2018, director Gunasekhar took to Twitter and shared a poster from Bala Ramayanam. Posting the same, he wrote, “Today Marks 22 years of #NationalAWARD Winning #BestChildren’sFilm @Gunasekhar1’s #balaramayanam starring @tarak9999 as Lord Ram ! (sic).”
ABOUT BALA RAMAYANAM
Bala Ramayanam, which released back in 1996, minted Rs 5 crore at the box office. The film was a pedestal for Jr NTR in the film industry. The film starred about 3000 children, all between the ages of 10 and 12. While Jr NTR played Lord Rama, classical dancer Smitha Madhav essayed the role of Sita. The film bagged the National Award for Best Children’s Film the same year.
