Income taxpayers who have e-filed Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the assessment year of 2020-21, must verify them to avoid becoming a non-filer.
If one does not verify the ITR, higher rates of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) will be applied.
The extended date for verification or e-verification of ITR is February 28, 2022.
“Please verify your ITR filed for AY 2020-21 today, if you haven’t verified it as yet!” Income Tax India tweeted.
