Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
New Delhi, April 6 : The Delhi Member Parliament Mr. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma and Delhi MLA Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa have initiated a campaign to get signatures of the Member Parliaments of the different parties in support of the proposal to celebrate Children’s Day in the name of Char Sahibzade means four sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji.
In a statement issued here today, Mr. Sirsa disclosed that it was great to see that Mr. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma in keeping with his commitment to support the move get Children’s Day celebrated in name of four sons of Guru Gobind Singh has initiated historic move to get the signatures of 100 members of Parliament belonging to different political parties and representing different areas of the country. He said that so far 60 members of different parties have put their signatures in support of this proposal. He said that this proposal will be submitted to Prime Minister Mr. Narinder Modi after getting signatures of 100 MPs representing different regions of the country. He said that the proposal being submitted to PM will give detail representation on why this day should be celebrated in name of four sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh ji. He further disclosed that prior to 1964 Children’s Day was celebrated in India as per the recommendation of United Nations on November 20th but later it was changed to Novermbe 14th on the birthday of Ist Prime Minister of country Jawaharlal Nehru fondly called Chaha Nehru by Chilren. He said that this day is not about the love of Nehru towards Children but about rights of Children. Birthday of Nehru can be celebrated in country as Uncle’s Day or Chaha Diwas but Children’s Day should be celebrated on December 26th the day of sacrifice of younger Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh ji at Sirhind. He also said that doing so will be a reminder for the children about having faith in one’s own courage and the drive to fight for what is right.
The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary also disclosed that Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar Takht Sri Damdama Sahib have already supported the move and termed this proposal as historic one in keeping with the contribution of the Char Sahibzade whose sacrifice has no parallel in the world. He said that it was first time in the history of the country that Members of Parliament have supported such a move wholeheartedly and given their signatures in its favor. He said that all the MPs of Akali Dal from Punjab have already given their signatures in favor of this proposal.
Mr.Sirsa said that he was thankful to Mr. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma for the initiative he has taken and said that he along with Mr. Verma will approach maximum number of MPs to get their support and will even travel abroad for getting support in favour of this proposal.
He said that there is no parallel in the world history for the supreme sacrifice these four sahibzades made for the humanity and the country. He said that decision to celebrate Chidren’s day in their name will be a tribute for them.
