iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14: What will extra Rs 10,000 get you, and is it worth the expense?

The new iPhone 15 series is here and the devices will be up for pre-order on September 15. The sale of the new iPhones will start on September 22. Apple has announced the latest iPhone 15 series with a starting price of Rs 79,900. But, is the new iPhone 15 worth buying in India or should you go for the iPhone 14 because there is a price difference of Rs 10,000 between them?

Let’s find out.

iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14: Price in India

The iPhone 15 comes with a starting price of Rs 69,900 for the base 128GB storage model, which is the same as last year’s model. The price of the iPhone 14 has dropped to Rs 69,900 on Apple’s official online store. Although, consumers can get it at an even cheaper price via Flipkart. This device is listed for Rs 67,999.

iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14: What will extra Rs 10,000 get you, and is it worth the expense?

The iPhone 15 is a big upgrade over its predecessor. Both the 5G phones are good, but I would recommend you buy the new iPhone 15 for obvious reasons. The latest version comes with a better 48-megapixel dual rear camera system, and people now also get the Dynamic Island feature for alerts and live activities, which was limited to iPhone 14 Pro variants last year. What else? The 2023 iPhone also ships with a faster chip and a brighter display with support for USB-C connectivity.

Now, the advantage of having a USB-C port is that you don’t have to carry a separate charging cable as well as the adapter for the iPhone 15. One can simply use any Type-C charger that you have at your home and while traveling with family.

The rest of the things are similar in both of them. Apple’s official website shows that iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 users will get up to 20 hours of battery, which we haven’t yet tested for the new model. But the previous model didn’t die until the end of the day (From 8:00AM to 7:00PM). Apple’s battery optimization for iPhones is really good. Both iPhones come with an IP68 water-resistant rating, wireless charging support, and stereo speakers. The 6.1-inch display size is also the same on both of them and you don’t get a charging adapter for either of them.

All-in-all, if you can afford to spend around Rs 80,000, then it is better to buy the new version. People who can wait for a few months and want to buy the new model at a lower price should either wait for some time or get one via the US. You might be able to buy the iPhone 15 at a slightly lower price because offline or online stores will likely announce some attractive bank and exchange offers to attract customers in the coming months.

If your budget is around Rs 50,000, then you could consider buying the iPhone 13. It is the same as the iPhone 14 and is available on sale for Rs 55,999. With exchange offers and bank offers, the price will drop significantly. I would say you should buy the iPhone 13 during Diwali because the price then might be even lower.
