Indian man wins Rs 55 crore lottery in Dubai, plans to help colleagues

Abu Dhabi: An Indian hotel employee in Dubai won Dh 25 million (Rs 55.67 crore) at the first outdoor Big Ticket Live Draw since 2020.

Sajesh NS, a resident of Dubai, won the Series 245 jackpot prize. He has been buying Big Tickets every month for four years.

Sajesh, who moved to the UAE from Oman two years ago, bought the winning ticket online with a group of 20 of his colleagues. All of them will now share the jackpot prize money.

The Indian-origin man plans to help his colleagues with the grand prize money.

“There are over 150 employees at the hotel where I work, and I would like to help out as many of them as I can by sharing a portion of my winnings with them,” Sajesh told Gulf News.

Sajesh plans to continue buying lottery tickets every month.

The next live draw will take place in December, with one lucky winner receiving Dh 30 million for the first time.

In another incident, a German man who won €9,927,511,60 (Rs 81 crore) in the lottery is looking for a wife to spend it with. He immediately quit his job at a steel factory and went on a spending spree, buying a Rs 3.6 crore Ferrari 448 Pista, as well as a Porsche Turbo S Cabriolet for Rs 2 crore.

“I’m still single,” he told the German newspaper Bild. “She may be blonde or brunette, I don’t care.”

He said, “I just want to fall in love. I’m looking for a woman who loves to travel and is ready to start a family with me. I need a woman I can trust no matter what happens.
