HP has announced its latest addition to its portable photo printer portfolio in India — the HP Sprocket Plus. The device is claimed to produce 30 per cent larger photos (2.3-inch x 3.4-inch), compared to the first HP Sprocket. The HP Sprocket Plus will be available in two colours — Black and Red.
The company says that the companion Sprocket App (available on iOS and Android) has also been upgraded with a host of new capabilities and users can now print photos from Social Media apps directly. It has a new feature, called Embedded Experience powered by Augmented Reality that prints photos with a concealed watermark and reveal additional content when viewing the photos through the App. Furthermore, it comes equipped with numerous filters, text borders, stickers and emojis that let users customise their photos.
The Sprocket plus photo printer connects to mobile devices via Bluetooth and prints photographs sized 2.3 x 3.4-inches using ZINK technology (A thermal print head heats up a special type of ZINK Photo Paper embedded with dye crystals to produce the image). Hence, it is claimed to deliver colourful, smudge-proof, water-resistant and tear-resistant photos without ink or toner cartridges. Additionally, the peel-and-stick backing property of ZINK paper can turn your photos into fun stickers that can personalise everyday items such as bags, phones and notebook PCs, the company stated. The HP Sprocket Plus is exclusively available now for Rs 8,999 on Amazon India.
