Hollywood calling for Priyanka Chopra could mean much more!

Mumbai:There are artistes who are blessed with good work. Work which pops out from nowhere and helps in shaping their career graph. But then, there are others who toil hard, break the mould and stun everyone with their unmatched achievements.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra proudly falls in the second category.

Piggy Chops (as she is fondly called) has a bag full of successful ventures to boast of. She won many hearts in 2000 after winning the most coveted crown of Miss World and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty—Asia & Oceania, becoming the fifth Indian to win the competition ever.

Little did anyone imagine that this small town girl from Bareilly would carve her own niche in the Hindi film industry one day. The former model made her impressive début in a Tamil film in 2002 called ‘Thamizhan’. She also featured in a Bollywood film ‘The Hero’ later that year.

The girl, who was considered to be an average actor initially, gave a thundering performance in films such as ‘Andaz’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and the likes. But it was ‘Aitraaz’ in 2004 opposite Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan which made everyone sit up and take notice of her acting prowess.

Post that there has been no looking back for Priyanka — she has had a number of hits to her credit. From ‘Krrish’, ‘Don’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Kaminey’, ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ to the more recent ones like ‘Barfi’, ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’—she has stunned all with her power-packed performances.

After bagging all the popular Bollywood awards for her films, she was honoured with the most coveted Nation Film Award for Best Actress in ‘Fashion’. The leading lady has a pool of talent, which helps her in exploring a new horizon of work opportunities.

Priyanka Chopra today is not just a celebrity in India but also in the West. She was touted as a rockstar singer with her first ever single ‘In My City’ in 2012 — the song went on to become a chartbuster the moment it was released. It was her second single `Exotic’ with international pop-star Pit Bull which got her instant name and fame in the West, and soon she was appreciated for her singing talent across the globe.

PeeCee is now a global face, and is ready to shock her fans once again (albeit in a pleasant manner). The 32-year-old actress is gearing up for her big Hollywood television break. American show ‘Quantico’ by ABC will see her essay an FBI agent Alex Parrish, who is shown to be half Indian and half Caucasian.

For Priyanka, cracking a deal with the television conglomerate is a big move which speaks volumes about the talent and versatility she possesses as an actress. American thriller ‘Quantico’, which will start airing sometime in the later half of the year, has kept all the curious eyes set on PeeCee. Her performance will definitely be rated and critics will have their mighty pen in place to dole out judgements.

But somebody who has stood the test of times and risen a notch higher every time, needs no further stamp of approval, we assume. Priyanka’s ‘Quantico’ should be seen as a precursor to a much bigger and better picture. Who knows our ‘desi’ girl might turn into Lara Croft soon in the Hollywood studios!
