Heat warnings in effect for swath of southern Ont.

Toronto, A high of 31 C is expected in the city Sunday, though that temperature could feel more like 40 C with the humidex, Environment Canada said.

“These conditions may produce considerable discomfort for those who may not have access to a cool or air-conditioned place,” Environment Canada said in its release.

The weather agency is advising that people continue to check on elderly adults and others who may be susceptible to the heat, including young children, those with respiratory problems and people with certain mental health issues.
