Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, 14th August: Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab will be issuing appointment letters to another 119 new MBBS doctors selected by Public Public Service Commission (PPSC) during a ceremony at State Institute of Health & F.W, SAS Nagar on 17th August 2015.
This was stated here today by Ms. Vini Mahajan, Principal Secretary, Health & F.W., Punjab. She disclosed that after appointment of 1st batch of senior most 167 from combined merit list of Medical Officers, the Health Department would now be issuing appointment letter to another 119 MBBS doctors in the 2nd instance. The health services in the state will get a boost with the appointment of these new doctors as they will soon be posted at various hospitals in the state, especially covering the areas where there is a shortage of doctors.
She added that the Government is committed to provide better health care facilities for the people and a special emphasis is being laid upon grass-root level health services. She added that a 4 weeks orientation course will be held for these doctors in the State Institute of Health & FW, Mohali.
