Chandigarh, Union Minister for Food Processing Industry Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal will flag off pilgrim special train “Dham Special with Dakshin Darshan” on Monday October 27 at 7.15 AM from railway station Chandigarh that will leave for Ujjain via Lucknow and reach back after 18 days pilgrimage on November 13.
In a press release issued here today, Mrs Badal said that Union Government has decided to run tourist trains covering pilgrim destinations and tourist spots in the country that will carry passengers as tourists only. This special train will touch pilgrim destinations at Faizabad, Ayodhaya, Varanasi, Mughalsarai, Puri, Tirupati, Kanchipuram, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Aurangabad, Dwarka and Ujjain.
Union Minister further added that Indian Railways has entrusted Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) with the task of running pilgrim special trains for various destinations in the country to promote rail tourism and provide reasonably priced package to tourists. EOM
