Harry Mann or ‘Horrible Mann’ almost have the same meaning in the English dictionary: Bir Devinder

Patiala, January 10

It’s unbelievable that Harinderpal Singh Alias Harry Mann, who unsuccessfully contested the Punjab Assembly election in February 2017, as Congress candidate from Sanaur (Patiala) could have the audacity to make an obnoxiously chilling public statement from the public platform that “he will distribute 10 swords in each village of Sanour constituency to the congress party workers who will manage the polling booths and they may chop off the head of any of their opponent in the Panchayat elections with impunity and after committing the heinous crime, they should come to him and he will ensure their protection from the clutches of law ” . Such a horrible statement by ‘Harry Mann’ has henceforth entitled him to done the titled of ‘Horrible Mann’. Even otherwise the literal dictionary meaning of English word ‘Harry’ means a ‘proven nuisance’ or ‘despoil’. So therefore I see no point in asking Mr. Mann; whether he is aware of the consequences of horrendous stupidity, he had committed in the full view of the public, when his nick name’ Harry’ manifests nuisance and destruction?

I wonder how Mr. Parkash Singh Badal appointed him as Information commissioner Punjab, without even minutely checking the veracity of his nick name ‘Harry Mann’. But I would certainly like to know from the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, if he is wide awake, that where is the rule of law in the State Mr. Chief Minister? Is this the jungle Raj in Punjab? Are we living in the tribal age?

Where are the law enforcing agencies, are they slumbering? Why nobody from the police and from the administration has taken suo motto cognizance of this catastrophic public outburst by a public man? The statement of Mr. Mann may have serious backlash in Panchayat elections in Patiala District? He should be arrested immediately under the relevant provisions of law so that no one dares to resort to such loathsome public rage. Mr. Harinderpal Singh Mann certainly deserves his abode either in Jail or in mental asylum for psychiatric counseling. If in democracy, the scores of political ascendancy are to be settled with swords than the future of democratic polity in India could not be looked upon with greater hope.
