Chandigarh, The Union Ministry of Finance, has assigned additional Charge of Debts Recovery Tribunal -1, having jurisdiction states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh to Harcharn Singh, Presiding judge , Debts Recovery Tribunal- Punjab.
Sh. Harcharn Singh , who is now heading the DRT Punjab, will discharge the functions of Both the benches , while sitting at Chandigarh. With this new assignment Sh. Singh will now look after and adjudicate the cases of the State of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and union Territory of Chandigarh.
It is worth mentioning here that Sh. Singh has been handling the additional charge of Debts Recovery Tribunal – Jaipur , having the
jurisdiction of State of Rajasthan, during his current assignment/ posting , as Presiding Officer, DRT-Punjab.
Sh. Singh has been known for his bold, landmark judgments and speedy disposal of cases of recovery of bad debts and other FINANCIAL issues involving in the recovery of Non Performing Assets (NPAs), of the banks under the newly enacted special Laws. “The Recovery of Debts Due To Banks and Financial Institutions Act-1993 (RDDBFI Act-1993) and “The Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act-2002 SARFAESI Act-2002).
Sh. Harcharn Singh will hold the additional charge till further orders of the Ministry of Finance .
