Harassment case: Security guard shoots girl student at nursing college

Patiala, April 7
A security guard on Saturday shot a female nursing student at a college at which he worked in what is believed to be a case of sexual harassment.
Security guard Balbir Singh entered the victim’s hostel on Friday night and shot her. The victim, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, claimed she had complained to college authorities, but saw no action.
Singh is believed to have used a co-worker’s weapon. Other students overpowered him to prevent him from shooting again. He sustained a wound in the scuffle that followed.
