Patna, December 26
A replica of Takht Sri Harmandar Ji Patna Sahib was installed on the bypass road tent city during Shukrana Samaroh to mark the 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh.
A bus museum is showcasing the Guru’s relics. An SGPC sewadar, Jaskaran Singh, said: “On display are the weapons used by the Guru and a ‘kanga’ with his hair. These items are also attracting the attention of non-Sikhs.” The Sikh Mission, Kurukshetra, has put up a book stall near the Darbar Hall.
“Residents of Bihar are buying books on the Guru, particularly the Hindi editions. We are recording sales of Rs 20,000 per day,” said stall incharge Sahab Singh.
A Sikh pilgrim from Lakhimpur Khiri (UP) said: “We are staying at the bypass road tent city. The replica of Patna Sahib Gurdwara is giving us a feel of the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh. We have visited various gurdwaras here as the Bihar Government is providing free e-rickshaw and bus service.”
