CHANDIGARH, JUNE 11: Punjab Election Commission has issued guidelines for the conduct of bye election of Gram Panchayats, 2015 to be held on 14-6-2015 to employees of the state under section 114,120 and 121 of the election commission act 1994.
According to Election Commission spokesman, the act clearly states that all the government employees must have to ensure an unbiased and impartial election. He also quote that officials must have to take care that they should not favour or support any particular party or campaign and conduct the election in a free and fair manner.
The spokesman further said that officials should also make sure that they must be present in those events or places where their presence is imperative so that the law and order can be maintained. They are not expected to be present on every tour of ministers unless it is required. Another thing which should be taken under the notice is that any expenditure incurred on election meeting held on the eve of election must be borne by the minister or the concerned party.
