Chandigarh, The Punjab Government has invited application from the government employees not below the rank of senior assistant to accompany the Religious Jathas to be sent to Pakistan as Liaison Officers.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the General Administration Department said that the Government of india is contemplating on despatching Sikh Religious Jathas to Pakistan in the year 2015 to enable them to celebrate the Gurpurabs and other important events. Giving further details he said that Government of india may send Jathas to Pakistan marking martyrdom of Guru Arjun Dev Ji in the month of May 2015 similarly during the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the month of June 2015 and to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the month of November 2015.
The spokesman said that liaison officers would be deputed with these Religious Jathas to accompany them to Pakistan. He said any officer/official not below the rank of senior assistant could apply to be liaison officer routing his application through departmental head. Application must be on prescribed Performa and should reach in the office of General Administration, 6th floor, Punjab Civil Secretariat by December 31, 2014. Employees working in Secretariat could send application through Secretariat’s Administration.
He said that only those officers/officials would be selected as liaison officer who had not accompanied any such Religious Jathas in capacity of liaison officer in the past 5 years. Had any Sehajdhari Sikh selected as liaison officer he would have to give affidavit (if demanded) claiming that he is bonafide Sehajdhari Sikh, before getting visa in Pakistani Embassy at New Delhi.
