Goonda tax on mining of sand to go within 24 hours : Kejriwal

BATALA: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was shocked to know that legal crusher owners were imposed “Goonda Tax or Jizya’ by the Mining Mafia in Punjab and vowed thatwithin 24 hours of AAP’s coming into power, this ‘Goonda Tax’ will be curbed in Punjab.

After meetings with families of drug-addicts who died and farmers who committed suicide in the last three days, today it were businessmen who apprised Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about the ‘Goonda Tax’ being imposed on them by Akali goons and demanded stern action against these “goondas”.

Large number of businessmen including crusher owners, small shopkeepers gathered to meet him and revealed that more than 2500 false cases were lodged in this area only by the Akali leaders to ruin not only their business but them too.

Kejriwal said that once voted to power AAP would set up a Commission to review such case and officials who had lodged these cases would be taken to task.

Kejriwal started his day by paying obeisance at Darbar Sahib and Durgiana Temple before leaving for Batala town.

Regarding the posters for propaganda to term him as a ‘failed CM’ in entire Punjab by Akalis, Kejriwal said “People know who has ruined his states for about 10 years and who is a failed CM”

“What we have done in one year rule in Delhi, I challenge any state government could not have done in the last 65 years”, He said. “I am confidant, if Delhi goes to poll today, other parties will not be able to win even a single seat”, he vowed adding that even the media has also reported this view.

Earlier one woman Kulwant Kaur, whose young son Gurcharan Singh (24) fell prey to drugs and said “It were Akalis who ruined his family by patronizing drugs in Punjab and took life of my son”.

People of different sections of lives, including Christians, Industrialists, Advocates and Shopkeepers met Kejriwal to share their grievances with him.

Prominent among others were who accompanying Kejriwal includes State Convenor of AAP, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Gurpreet Ghuggi and MP Bhagwant Mann.
