Virat Kohli has been found wanting on the deliveries pitched outside the off-stump. Virat’s habit of playing cover drive has ended his innings on many occasions.
Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar had suggested the Test skipper to follow Sachin Tendulkar’s example to sort out his issues. Sachin left the deliveries that were bowled outside the off-stump in Australia and scored a well compiled double hundred in Sydney.
However, Gambhir is against this suggestion. He feels Virat should continue playing the shot no matter what. “This debate is very wrong that Virat Kohli should stop playing cover drive. If a batsman was out while playing or hitting straight drive, pull shot, cut shot then he should stop hitting the straight drive, cut and pull shot,” he said.
