Chandigarh, The Punjab Government has in principal decided to continue the facility of free education to the children of deceased government employees.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson said that free education would be imparted with subject to certain conditions. Divulging the details he said that if the spouse of the deceased employee before his/her death has been working in government institutions, boards/corporations/tribunal/commission, semi government, cooperative and municipal organisation on regular basis than the children of the deceased employee would not be eligible for free education.
He said that in case after the death of an employee any of his family member has been given class A or B job, in that case also the children of the deceased employee would not be eligible for free education under the scheme. “The children would get free education in case the family member of the deceased employee has been posted on class C or D job” he added.
The spokesman further said that besides these certain conditions the free education would continue as per previous terms and conditions. Instructions in this regard have been issued to all the Deputy Commissioners, departmental heads, Commissioners of divisions, Registrar Punjab and Haryana High Court and all the sessions’ judges.
