Former Moga SSP Charanjit Sharma and two others get interim stay from high court

Chandigarh, September 13: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted interim stay on action on the recommendation of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission recommendations against former Moga SSP Charanjit Sharma and three other police officials.

The high court has issued notice to Punjab for September 20.

The two other police officials are SSP Raghbir Singh Sandhu and SHO Amarjit Singh.

They have been named by the commission in case of firing on Sikh protesters at Behbal Kalan in which two persons were killed.

The people were protesting against sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.

It may be mentioned that several Sikh organisations are staging dharna at Bargari since June 1 last have been demanding action against police officials responsible for firing at peaceful protesters.
