As the Chief Minister is yet to receive Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation as Cabinet minister, the Capt Amarinder Singh camp hit out at him, calling him the “king of theatrics”.
Describing Sidhu’s resignation as a drama, Cabinet ministers Brahm Mohindra and Charanjit Channi urged him to show more dignity and decorum in his actions. The two ministers were part of the delegation that recently met senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel on Sidhu issue.
The ministers said, “This is nothing but drama by the ‘king of theatrics’. If he had to resign he should have followed the protocol and sent it directly to the Chief Minsiter.”
They quipped whether Sidhu was so dumb that he didn’t know that the Cabinet minister’s post was not a party post and his resignation could not be accepted by the Congress president. They further questioned Sidhu, “Why it took you 34 days to announce it on Twitter? In any case, since when had Twitter become the platform for appointments/resignations?”
Another minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu said he should make his stand clear. The ministers advised Sidhu to take further action keeping their repercussions in view, not just for himself but the state and its people, as well as the party which had given him so much.
