Junk food: Junk food can give you acne since it’s high in saturated fat and Glycemic Index (GI). Studies have linked high glycemic index foods such as pasta, white bread and cakes to an increase in acne.

Instead, opt for whole grains which are high in anti-oxidants and are anti-inflammatory as well.

Sodas/soft drinks: Sugar might give you a great taste of sweetness, but it’s one of the absolute worst things for your skin.

Among other health issues, sodas can cause premature skin ageing and can weaken our immune system to fight against bacteria. Sodas have also been linked to cancer in studies.

Fried food: As the name suggests, fried stuff is tempting as it always tastes great. But, since these foods contain refined carbs, they can cause acne on your face. Fried food items also increase your fat and calorie intake.

Alcohol: We know that alcohol is particularly bad for your skin. Excessive drinking leads to dehydration, causing wrinkles, dullness and dry skin. Alcohol can also give rise to skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.

Caffeine: Caffeine can severely dehydrate your skin, making it dry and flaky. It also makes you to release more cortisol (a hormone). Excessive amounts of cortisol can damage the immune system and cause thinning of the skin while accelerating the ageing process.
