First Indian Miss Universe Sushmita Sen pens a congratulatory note for new Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu; says ‘bohut bohut Mubarak’

Actor-model Harnaaz Sandhu made history today after getting crowned Miss Universe 2021. She brought home the crown after 21 years and her fans could not be more excited.

Lara Dutta had won the crown last in 2000 for India and the industry has waited long enough. Harnaaz has made her dreams and those of her supporters come true and she’s been receiving congratulatory messages since morning.

The recent celeb to wish Harnaaz happens to be the first Indian Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, who won the title back in 1994. Sushmita shared a super sweet note for Harnaaz on Instagram and added that she was destined to win the crown. Along with a heartfelt caption, Sushmita shared a photo of Harnaaz’s crowning moment where the latter looked too happy to miss.

Sushmita’s note read: “yehbaat ‘Har Hindustani Ki Naz’ Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu #MissUniverse2021 #INDIAAAAAA Soooooo proud of you!!!! Apart from Sushmita, the likes of Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor had penned sweet notes for Harnaaz and congratulated her. For her winning moment, Harnaaz stunned in a heavily sequined gown with beige heels. She had rounded off her look with diamond-studded earrings and opted for dewy makeup.

Prior to Harnaaz, Sushmita and Lara had brought the crown home. Sushmita had even won the title of Femina Miss India in 1994.
