New Delhi: There’s a good news for iPhone users! You can now forget about charging your phone every couple of hours.
In what can be called a breakthrough, Intelligent Energy, a British consumer electronics firm, has managed to create the world’s first hydrogen-powered battery, claiming that it can charge your iPhone for an entire week.
It is widely believed that Intelligent Energy is working directly with Apple.
According to The Telegraph, hydrogen gas is refuelled via an adapted headphone socket on the prototype fuel cell iPhone.
Some features of the hydrogen-powered battery, apart from the fact that it will allow your iPhone to run for 7 days without charging, are listed below:
1. It is so thin it fits inside the current handset without making it bulkier.
2. The fuel cell contains a battery and unique technology that generates energy by mixing hydrogen and oxygen, with only heat and water released as waste.
3. The only visible difference is the addition of small rear vents, which enable water vapour to escape from the phone.
The Telegraph also quoted Henri Winand, chief executive of Intelligent Energy saying that, ‘This is a major step because if you are moving to a new technology you have to give people a path they are comfortable with.’
