Patiala, Leader of the Opposition Sukhpal Khaira has demanded that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh convene a three-day Assembly session on the agrarian crisis.
During a meeting with AAPvolunteers here today, the Bholath MLA said:“The House proceedings should be live-streamed so that people get to know whether the government is serious about addressing their concerns. Capt Amarinder should declare an agrarian emergency in the state,” said Khaira.
He also demanded that the Chief Minister announce a one-year moratorium on recovering loans from small farmers. “The state government should pay the interest on loans during the period of moratorium rather than announcing direct relief for farmers, which is a farce.”
