Jalandhar, September 16- Lok Sabha MP and President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Mr. Sunil Jakhar today said that Faridkot rally would act as a last nail in the coffin of the Sukhbir Singh Badal led modern Akali Dal, which was squarely responsible for carnage of innocent Sikhs in Bargari.
Interacting with the media persons here on the sidelines of a function organised by the Hind Samachar group here today, Mr Jakhar said that it was shameless that Sukhbir and his coterie were triumphing over rally at Faridkot to rub salt into wounds of those innocents Sikhs who were mercilessly killed on their orders. He asked Sukhbir to explain the reason of their jubilation in the rally which was merely a show of strength to further bruise the psyche of the victims, their family members and the entire Sikh Panth. He said that instead of apologizing from the victims of this carnage, the power drunk Sukhbir has chosen to organize this rally and challenge their pride.
Mr. Jakhar said that the rally organized at Faridkot by Akali Dal at a time when this heinous incident of firing was completing three years reflects the immaturity of Akali leaders including Sukhbir. The MP said that infact the timing and choice of venue of rally speaks volumes of the arrogance and insensitivity of Sukhbir towards Sikh panth as this place was epicenter of the sacrilege incidents and the unfortunate events that unfolded in its aftermath. He said that it was unfortunate that Sukhbir was misconstruing his mistake, of ordering the firing, as an act of bravery and rejoicing over it in Faridkot.
Mr. Jakhar said that instead of its Sukhbir should have repented for sacrilege incidents happened during their tenure and sought forgiveness from the families of victims of this tragedy. He said that Akali Dal would have to face the consequences of the arrogant attitude of Sukhbir in the coming days because the rally was organized by him just to boast that three years ago they have ordered firing in Kotakpura and even today they do not want to apologize for it.
Mr. Jakhar said that simmering anger against Sukhbir and his henchmen have now turned into sheer hatred against them. He said that to save Sukhbir and his stooges from wrath of the common man the state government had denied permission to Akali Dal to hold rally at Faridkot. Quipping on Akali Dal Chief’s silence on issues that who gave orders for firing in Kotakpura and who were resposnbile for sacrilege incidents in state during their tenure, he said that ‘Sukhbir Badal ko gussa Kyu aata hai’ and pat came reply from him that because ‘Sukhbir Ko Koi Jawaab nahi aata hai’ .
Replying to another query, Mr. Jakhar said that if people want to ensure that fuel price does not touch century mark then must have to oust Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in the ensuing general elections. He said that unfortunately the Prime Minister, who never tires of boasting his humble background as chaiwala, has a heart which beats for the capitalists. He said that rather the Prime Minisetr was working overtime to safeguard the interests of capitalists and that too at cost of common man.
