Moga, The family of Orbit bus victim Arshdeep Kaur has agreed for post-mortem of her body and cremation. The body has been shifted to Faridkot Medical College for post-mortem.
The family has accepted compensation of Rs 24 lakh to be given by the Punjab government. The SC and ST Commission has also announced financial assistance of Rs. 6 lakh.
It may be mentioned that the teenager was molested in the speeding Orbit bus and thrown out followed by her mother Shinder Kaur near Baghapurana on the Moga-Kotkapura highway. Arshdeep died on the spot. Her gruesome picture is circulating on the social media.
The situation continued to be tense in Moga throughout the day as the police cordoned the local civil hospital where her body had been kept. The family had earlier refised to cremate her demanding that case be registered against the owner of the Orbit company which is owned by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
