Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Mumbai, In a recent event, Madhuri Dixit Nene said that she is very much thrilled to witness Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra perform lavani, together. In the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Bajirao Mastani, Deepika and Priyanka will perform a ‘lavani’ dance together which is touted to be a crucial part of the film’s climax.
“Anything about dance always excites me, so I am very, very excited to see Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s ‘lavani’ dance in Bajirao Mastani,” said Madhuri during the announcement of Mumbai’s first ever Contemporary Dance Festival, Jugnee.
Madhuri herself has previously danced onscreen with actresses Karisma Kapoor in Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Devdas.
Recalling the time, when she first tried jazz and contemporary dance in Dil toh Pagal Hai, Madhuri said, “I had a competition with Karisma in Dil To Pagal Hai. It was wonderful. Shiamak (Davar) was the choreographer for that. The dancing was a little more jazz and contemporary and I was doing that style for the first time. I enjoyed when we danced. Karisma and I got along very well, so we had a great time.”
Madhuri had a great time shooting Dola re Dola song with Aishwarya for Devdas. “When I did ‘Dola re dola’ with Aishwarya, Saroj Khan-ji had choreographed it and it was terrific. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has picturised it. There were many trolly shots and long shots and after a long time a song was being picturised on that level.”, said Madhuri.
