Entries for inter-district school games be filled online for the first time : Dr. Cheema

Chandigarh, Introducing the administrative reform regime into the Punjab school games field for the first time, the education department has decided to invite online entries for inter school games. It was disclosed by Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema in a press communiqué released here today.

Education Minister said that every year in the school games thousands of players of teams from various districts participate in different sports events. “Considering the technical hazards and strenuous task of filling entries encountered by thousands of players and teams, the educations department has now decided to get the entries only through online application”, said Dr. Cheema. He said that now through this easy and simplified online application the team incharge could fill the entry duly sitting at his office in school.

Dr. Cheema further said that by filling online entries the team managements could save their time and energy and the education department could also avoid the objections raised by late comer teams. He said that online entries could be filled on the Sports Departments’ website punjabschoolsports.in form six days prior up to 2 days prior to the commencement of a tournament.

The Education Minister while releasing the school sports calendar for 2014-15 said that although Punjab Inter School Games and Kho-Kho under 19 tournament (Boys and Girls) were being organised from 28 to 30 September at Mohali, but the online filling of entries would be started for games slated to be played from October 13 to December 7.
