Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded from the Punjab government to provide safety to the women in the state. Reacting on the incident of acid attack on 6 (Six) Dera Baba Nanak schoolgirls in Gurdaspur district in Punjab on March 16, Chhotepur said that the law and order situation in state is in bad shape and the criminals are roaming without any fear of Police and government.
He said that this is not the first case where the women in the state had to bear the brunt of the inefficiency of police and the Government. Every day the women are being raped and harassed in the state and the Police are doing nothing for their security.
Chhotepur demanded financial help for the treatment of injured girls and strict actions against the accused involved in the attack. He said that the culprits should be sent behind the bars to set an example for the future.
