Chandigarh, In a bid to provide corruption free and transparent administration, the punjab govt. has decided to do away with the policy of granting extension of service to all those govt. employees who are facing any departmental proceedings, vigilance inquiry/ prosecution.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that decision to this effect has been taken by the Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal on a recommendation from Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal. He said that the Chief Secretary has been asked to issue directions to the Administrative Secretaries of all the departments to prepare the list of all such employees who have been facing charges of corruption or any departmental inquiry, vigilance inquiry or prosecution in corruption related cases.He said that three member committee of each department comprising of Administrative Secretary, Director and one other officer of the department would scrutinise the case of every such employee requesting for extension in service and not clear any such case for extension.
He said that the state government in the year 2012 has launched the scheme of granting extension of one year or two years after the age of superannuation of service i.e. 58 years. He said that the government has also decided to amend the notification issued on October 8, 2012 and instructions issued on January 22, 2013 to ensure that the tainted employees are not granted extension in service after 58 year of age.
The spokesperson further said that Punjab Government is determined to provide transparent and corruption free administration to the citizens all efforts are being made in that direction.
