Muktsar/Amritsar, March 25
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal celebrated Holi with his son and personal staff, including security men, at his Delhi residence yesterday.
Photos of Sukhbir celebrating Holi went viral on social media on Thursday evening wherein he was seen with his gunmen in a drenched white kurta-pyjama and posing with his son Anantbir Singh.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh slammed the SAD chief for celebrating Holi while keeping his head uncovered. The Jathedar stated that as per the Sikh code of conduct, baptised Sikhs must abstain from appearing in public with their heads uncovered.
Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwarpal Singh said Sukhbir’s act had hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. Paramjit Singh Sarna, former president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, also criticised Sukhbir for his public appearance without a headgear.
