The infighting in the Sikh political circles of Delhi continues unabated. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today said it would move court to retrieve money what it claimed was embezzled by former DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK.
Reacting to this, Manjit Singh GK said, “These are false allegations and was an attempt to muzzle me from criticising the party (SAD) for its recent debacle. I have been asking why the Akali Dal lost and why the Panthic vote did not go to the party.”
The SAD and DSGMC today said it had fresh evidence of embezzlement worth crores of rupees done by Manjit Singh GK during his tenure as president of the DSGMC. Avtar Singh Hit, senior vice-president of the Delhi unit of the Akali Dal, said after checking accounts of the DSGMC, it had come to light that Manjit Singh GK had withdrawn foreign currency amounting to 6,500 US dollors, 2,600 Canadian dollors, 2,150 pounds (UK currency) and several thousands Euros and spent this money on personal things and used the name of “dharm prachar” in foreign land and failed to given account of even a single penny of this amount.
Hit alleged that on November 7, 2015, Manjit Singh GK took an amount of Rs 30 lakh and on November 23 same year, he had withdrawn Rs 50 lakh, receipts were signed by his close friend-cum PA Parmjivan Jot Singh.
President, DSGMC, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, said Manjit Singh GK had to answer this.
Manjit Singh GK was expelled from the SAD two days ago and has been questioning the performance of the SAD in the Lok Sabha polls where the party lost eight of the 10 seats it contested.
